John week 16

John 4:20-24 20 Our ancestors worshiped on this mountain, but you Jews claim that the place where we must worship is in Jerusalem.” 21 “Woman,” Jesus replied, “believe me, a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem. 22 You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews. 23 Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. 24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”


Romans 12:1 ESV I appeal to you therefore…by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.


Barak: to kneel, to bless


Psalm 72:11, 15 NKJV 11 Yes, all kings shall fall down before Him; All nations shall serve Him. 15 And He shall live; And the gold of Sheba will be given to Him; Prayer also will be made for Him continually, And daily He shall be praised.

Psalm 67:3 3 May the peoples praise you, God; may all the peoples praise you. Psalm 134:2 2 Lift up your hands in the sanctuary and praise the Lord.


Psalm 44:8 8 In God we make our boast all day long, and we will praise your name forever.



ZAMAR: to make music, to celebrate in song and worship, to touch the strings or parts of a musical instrument.


Psalm 144:9 NASB 9 I will sing a new song to You, O God; Upon a harp of ten strings I will sing praises to You


Psalm 7:17 I will praise the Lord according to His righteousness, And will sing praise to the name of the Lord Most High.

HALAL: to boast, to rave, to shine, to celebrate, to be clamorously foolish.


Psalm 149:3-4 3 Let them praise his name with dancing and make music to him with timbrel and harp. 4 For the Lord takes delight in his people; he crowns the humble with victory.


SHABACH: To address in a loud tone, to commend glory and triumph. Psalm 145:4 NKJV 4 One generation shall praise Your works to another, And shall declare Your mighty acts.

Psalm 117 1 Praise the Lord, all you nations; extol him, all you peoples.


Psalm 63:1-4 1 You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you; I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you, in a dry and parched land where there is no water. 2 I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and your glory. 3 Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. 4 I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands.
